DURING YOUR HEALING AVOID:
- Moving or rotating your jewellery where possible. This will allow your piercing to heal quickly.
- Touching your piercing with unwashed hands because this can increase the likelihood of infection.
- Over cleaning, only clean your piercing as directed above.
- Oral contact from others.
- Chlorine can cause irritation. So avoid pools and spas.
- Changing your jewellery until healed because you can damage the piercing and even get an infection.
- Shampoo, conditioner residue and bar soaps. Just make sure you rinse these away while showering.
- Tight and unwashed clothing and linen. Make sure you are changing bedding and towels regularly and not restricting the piercing in any way by the clothing that you wear.
- Illicit drugs and alcohol consumption initially (especially with oral piercings).
REMEMBER TO:
- Maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- Contact your piercer if you have any questions or queries.
